About Mining for Generations – Mining by Sweden

Mining for Generations – Mining by Sweden is a Swedish government and industry initiative  launched during 2016. This communication platform is run by Business Sweden in dialogue with the different stakeholders within the mining industry in Sweden.

Mining for generations -platform promotes Swedish mining industry internationally aiming to increase collaboration and contacts across borders both between mining companies, technology companies and academia. The platform provides information on and insights to the Swedish mining industry with a unique development for over 1000 years. We wish to share the Swedish portfolio of leading methods and knowhow for mines globally. We would like to facilitate the prospectors’ possibilities to reach out to significant minerals resources.

Mining for generations emphasizes the modern way of mining. With the help of innovative mining solutions, developed during the centuries of Swedish mining history in co-operation with technology companies, service providers, mines and academia, minerals and metals can be extracted in a sustainable way: mines should be operated in an efficient way with respect for indigenous people and nature.

Mining for generations tells the story of the mining nation Sweden. It is a story of success with the entire industry contributing to a level and quality of mining that is attractive and competitive on a global level.
